Construction parameters / defaults

These are the normal rules for this job type. Change them here for this estimate only.

Saved estimates

Save a calculated estimate without creating a job or quote. Reopen it later or turn it into a quote when required.

Create custom estimator

Tell JobHack what you need in normal language. AI will build the estimator, ask the questions that affect accuracy, and keep refining it. You can still edit every field and calculation yourself.

AI ESTIMATOR BUILDER

What do you need?

Describe what you want the estimator to calculate and how the job normally works. You do not need to know the formulas.

Add product specs optional

For product-driven work, add the manufacturer manual or installation sheet. JobHack reads spans, spacings, lengths, model-selection rules, loads and other technical limits so the estimator can use the real product rules.

How to build it
  1. Add the measurements or quantities you will enter on every job.
  2. Add any normal rules that usually stay the same, such as waste or spacing.
  3. Add calculations only if JobHack needs to work something out automatically.
  4. Add the materials and tell JobHack how many are needed.
  5. Add the labour hours.
  6. Press Launch job type. You can edit it again later.

You can leave any optional section empty. A simple estimator can be just measurements + materials + labour.

Show a complete worked example
Example: simple deck estimator

1. Job measurements: Length (m) and Width (m).

2. Rules: Waste (%) with a default of 10.

3. Automatic calculation: Area with formula length * width.

4. Material: Decking with quantity area * (1 + waste / 100) and unit m².

5. Labour: Installation with hours area * 1.5.

When you estimate a real deck, you enter the length and width. JobHack then calculates the area, material allowance and labour automatically.

Your work autosaves while you build. The internal formula names are created automatically from the names you type.

1. Job measurements / quantities

These are the numbers you type in when pricing a real job. Start here. Examples: Length, Width, Height, Number of doors, Number of posts.

2. Rules & defaults optional

Use these for normal values that usually stay the same but may change on a particular job. Examples: Waste 10%, Joist spacing 450 mm, Crew size 2.

3. Automatic calculations optional

Use this only when JobHack needs to calculate a new number before it can work out materials or labour.

4. Materials & parts

Add each material or component the job needs. The quantity can be a fixed number such as 4, or a formula such as area * 1.1.

5. Labour

Add the work you want priced. Hours can be fixed, such as 2, or calculated, such as area * 1.5.

Supplier files optional

Only use this if you have a supplier price list or catalogue you want linked to this job type. You do not need this to build the estimator.

Terms & Conditions

Effective 30 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-30-v1

1. About these Terms

These Terms & Conditions govern access to and use of the JobHack website, interactive demo, trial systems, customer applications, estimators, quoting tools, invoice tools, materials libraries, documentation and related services (together, the Services). By accepting these Terms or using the Services after acceptance, you agree to them.

2. Trial, purchase and activation

Where offered, JobHack provides a 14-day real-world trial without requiring a credit card. The trial is intended to let you test your JobHack system against your own work and request reasonable refinements during the trial. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the standard price displayed by JobHack is a one-off price inclusive of GST. Custom pricing may apply to a particular customer or project.

Payment to keep a system is an explicit choice. The standard JobHack trial is not an automatically renewing subscription. Following successful purchase, the purchased core JobHack system is permanently activated for the purchasing customer, subject to these Terms. Separate fees may be quoted for substantial new custom development, new integrations, major changes or services outside the purchased scope.

3. Your responsibility for outputs

JobHack assists with estimating, quantities, material selections, labour calculations, pricing, margins, quotes, invoices and related workflows. Outputs depend on information, rules, rates, dimensions, materials, assumptions and settings supplied, selected or approved by you.

You must check the accuracy and suitability of all outputs before relying on them, issuing them to a customer, ordering materials, fabricating, installing or making a business, safety or compliance decision. This includes checking measurements, quantities, supplier costs, sell prices, margins, tax treatment, labour allowances, site conditions, product suitability, availability and installation requirements.

JobHack is not engineering, architectural, building-certification, legal, accounting, tax, workplace-safety or other professional advice. The Services do not replace site inspections, qualified professional advice, manufacturer requirements, applicable standards, licences, approvals or legal obligations relevant to a job.

4. AI and automated features

Some features may use artificial intelligence or other automated systems to interpret requests, plans, photographs, documents or business information and suggest estimator structures, materials, quantities or other content. Automated content can be incomplete or incorrect and must be reviewed before acceptance or use.

Where JobHack presents a suggestion for review, you remain responsible for accepting, rejecting or correcting it. JobHack does not guarantee that an AI or automated feature will identify every relevant item or interpret source material correctly.

5. Connected and third-party services

Some features depend on third-party services such as AI, email, mapping, payment, accounting, supplier or other services. JobHack may manage some of these services while other services, including customer-connected AI after purchase, may use credentials supplied by the customer. Those services may have their own terms, fees, availability and data practices. JobHack is not responsible for a third party changing, suspending or discontinuing its service. A purchased JobHack core system will not intentionally be made dependent on an optional connection unless you choose to use a feature requiring it.

6. JobHack intellectual property

JobHack and its licensors retain all rights, title and interest in JobHack-created intellectual property, including the platform, source and object code, architecture, data structures, software framework, generator and estimator framework, calculation systems, workflows, interfaces, designs, templates, documentation, demo content, branding, trade marks, know-how and other technology or materials created by or for JobHack (JobHack IP).

Purchasing or using a JobHack system gives you a non-exclusive licence to use the system for your authorised internal business purposes. It does not transfer ownership of JobHack IP, source code, the underlying platform, reusable framework or technology.

7. Prohibited use of JobHack IP

Except with JobHack's prior written permission, or to the extent a right cannot lawfully be excluded, you must not:

Unauthorised use may result in suspension or termination of the affected access and JobHack may pursue remedies available under applicable law. Nothing in this clause limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Your intellectual property and data

You retain ownership of intellectual property you owned independently of JobHack and customer-supplied content such as your business name, logo, customer records, job information, supplier information, product lists, documents, photographs and other data you provide (Customer Content).

You grant JobHack the limited rights reasonably necessary to host, process, reproduce and use Customer Content to provide, secure, maintain and support your Services and perform requested development or refinements. You must have the rights and permissions necessary to provide Customer Content to JobHack.

Customer-specific business information is not transferred to another customer merely because both customers use JobHack. JobHack may use general, non-customer-specific platform knowledge, techniques and reusable software improvements across the platform, provided this does not disclose another customer's confidential Customer Content or pre-existing intellectual property.

9. Feedback and refinements

You retain your pre-existing business methods, confidential information and Customer Content. If you request a refinement, suggest an idea or provide feedback, JobHack may use that feedback to improve JobHack and may own or continue to use the software, reusable code, generic functionality, framework and platform improvements created by JobHack in responding to it. A customer request does not by itself transfer ownership of JobHack's resulting platform technology to the customer.

10. Confidentiality and account security

Each party must take reasonable steps to protect confidential information received from the other and use it only for the purpose for which it was provided, except where disclosure is authorised or required by law. You are responsible for keeping access links, credentials and connected-service credentials secure and for promptly reporting suspected unauthorised access.

11. Availability, maintenance and changes

JobHack may maintain, secure, repair and improve the Services and may change infrastructure or third-party providers. JobHack does not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Reasonable steps will be taken to avoid unnecessarily disrupting purchased core functionality. Permanent activation does not mean that every optional third-party service, integration, AI model or internet-dependent feature will remain available forever.

12. Payments, GST and refunds

Prices are in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise. Where a price is stated as inclusive of GST, GST is included. You are responsible for any third-party service charges you separately choose to incur.

Except where otherwise agreed or required by law, a completed one-off purchase is not refundable merely because you change your mind after choosing to keep the tested system. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

13. Acceptable use

You must not use the Services unlawfully, to infringe another person's rights, to introduce malicious code, to gain unauthorised access, to interfere with the Services or other customers, or to use another customer's data or access credentials without authority.

14. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JobHack is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss arising from an unchecked estimate or quote, or loss caused by inaccurate customer-supplied data or a third-party service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JobHack's aggregate liability arising from the affected paid Service is limited to the amount you paid JobHack for that affected Service. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Where a statutory guarantee applies and the law permits liability for failure to comply with that guarantee to be limited, JobHack's liability is limited, at JobHack's option, to supplying the relevant services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.

15. Suspension and termination

JobHack may suspend access where reasonably necessary to address security, fraud, unlawful use, material breach of these Terms or infringement of JobHack IP. Where reasonably practicable, JobHack will give notice and an opportunity to remedy a remediable breach. JobHack will not cancel a legitimately purchased permanent activation merely to convert it into a recurring JobHack subscription.

16. Changes to these Terms

JobHack may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services, law, security or business operations. If a change is material to customer use, JobHack may require acceptance of the new version before further use. The version and date of acceptance may be recorded.

17. Australian law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. The parties submit to the courts of New South Wales and courts entitled to hear appeals from them, subject to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

18. General

If part of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, it is to be read down to the extent necessary and the remaining provisions continue. A failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. These Terms, together with any written project-specific terms accepted by both parties, form the agreement relating to the Services they cover.
